Fog Peak – A heli elopement location on the top of my list in Wānaka. Rugged alpine scenes for a true mountain elopement experience
Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…
We’ve been together for around 12 years. Our relationship works for us because we have so many shared hobbies and things we love to do together. We are connected by our shared love for the outdoors and adventure – hiking, experiences in nature, travel. We both got into photography during our travels. Ever since it has been something that we love to do together, and something that inspires us to explore our beautiful country. We’ve always been onboard for whatever crazy ideas either one of us may have. Like selling our house and travelling full time in a bus/campervan. We’re always on the same page and that is something that is really special to us.
How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions!?
We met through a mutual friend who Kim worked with in a surf and skate shop, back in our early 20s. Jeremy used to come into the shop often and our mutual friend set us up together. Jeremy noticed Kim and thought she was really cute. Kim thought Jeremy had a bit of a rough-around-the-edges “coastie” vibe which she liked. Our first date was perfect. A walk on the beach with Jeremy’s dog, which was nice and casual and felt very natural.
When did you first realise that this was someone you’d like to spend the rest of your life with?
After we travelled around Europe together we knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. Travel with your partner can sometimes be a make or break experience. But for us it only brought us closer together. We took a long time to get engaged as we were too busy enjoying our lives together. We felt no pressure and no rush to do it any earlier.
