I put together this Lake Hawea elopement shoot- a location just on our door step amongst many other hidden gems in New Zealand landscapes. Involved were local vendors from Wanaka who live and breath all things weddings, and together we created this look. Wanaka has fast become a destination wedding location. As beautiful as the lake and mountain surrounds are, it was really nice to play and adventure somewhere a little different to our norm. Here we were surrounded by native bush and bird song, waterfalls, gorgeous earthy tones. And one hell of a couple to photograph.
Tanya and Aaron thank you for enduring what is the start of the west coast sandfly plague! It almost felt like a real elopement unfolding before my eyes with so much laughter and good vibes. Hence why I love doing a styled shoot every now and then, as it keeps the creative juices flowing. So it’s hopefully a chance to inspire others with ideas for their wedding day who might be thinking about a Lake Hawea Elopement of their own. Enjoy peeps!
